i’ve had a rough week emotionally — you know the kind. you just don’t sleep well and feel down in the dumps. it happens, and thankfully today i’m feeling a bit better. so this week’s friday finds i find myself focusing on special little moments in time. specifically, these lovely little nooks and vignettes captured for us to enjoy and be inspired by. i’m really working on my gratitude this year and finding the joy and appreciation in the little things in life. these images do that for me and i hope they do for you, too.

xo, victoria

  1. this styled by just makes me happy. i imagine the woodpile eventually building a warm, cozy fire and the placement of the vintage painting, mirror and glass cloche just look sublime. simple, but beautiful.
  2. i’ve long admired these shared by . i love that you can see subtle shapes and colors behind them, but there’s still a bit of mystery. they’ve got a rather retro, vintage vibe i like contrasted with the modern kitchen shelving.
  3. this is another very pretty little . it’s so fresh and clean looking with the modern pale green kitchen cabinets and i like the unexpected placement of the portrait painting and contemporary lighting fixture.
  4. artist and shop proprietor always has a killer eye and i love this lone palm frond, captured in her lovely image of as decor on a recent rainy L.A. day.
  5. i love everything about this inspiring from photographer . it’s eclectic and warm with such a unique collection of home furnishings and accessories. love that glass front display cabinet, too!
  6. i’m a big fan of all that lobster and swan creates and especially get inspired by her contributions to the — a global community of plant lovers. this simple is so pretty and such a lovely idea for a window sill.
  7. from shared by  looks like such an ideal space to get work done. even though there is a lot of objects and books, it feels like everything is in its proper place. and i love the pop of the green desk chair and lamp (and that pretty green glass!).
  8. this is yet another beautiful . located in a home in Lille, in northern france it’s so cozy with a wonderful collection of mismatched dining chairs (my favorite kind!).

  1. Hope you feel better and have a good weekend Victoria. I’ve been experiencing the same blues. For me it’s been an extended period of snow, ice and very cold rain here in Seattle. Here’s to turning a corner into more sunshine and appreciating the little lovely things.

  2. So sorry you’ve had a rough week, V, but glad you’re feeling a bit better. I know I appreciate and am grateful for your ability and willingness to still put together some beauty and inspiration for the rest of us despite it. What you do helps get me through those rough patches. xoxo

  3. I’m sorry you had a bad week. It does happen! I am writing to let you know I look forward to waking up early on Sunday have my coffee and read your friday finds and wear this there posts. The photos make me feel like I am there. Always beautiful and I love seeing what you find and go into wishful thinking mode. Not in a sad way but a good way. Been your reading sfgirlbybay for years!

  4. Aw, that sucks! Glad to hear you’re feeling on the up and up though. This blog always makes me happy, so please know that you’re spreading around the love even when you’re feeling in the dumps.

  5. Victoria,
It seems as if this last week has been intense emotionally for many people, including myself. I am approaching the anniversary of my mother’s death and my emotional body and physical body have felt an intense (perhaps transcending karma) squeeze.
I am thankful for the beauty you share and I am sending some Florida love

  6. I have that little scalloped mirror!! Purchased…oh, 40 years ago at a farm sale…lady in her 90’s…I’m looking in mine now. franki
